ALTE CERTIFICATES DUPLE C2 or advanced level The diploma is recognized as the Portuguese language entrance requirement for higher education and is also accepted as proof of Portuguese language proficiency within business contexts DAPLE C1 or Advanced- Intermediate level The diploma is recognized as the Portuguese language entrance requirement for higher education and is also accepted as proof of Portuguese language proficiency within business contexts DIPLE B2 or Vantage Level The required level of proficiency is usually reached after 500-600 hours of Portuguese language training and candidates should be able to communicate in a broad range of formal and informal everyday and work situations. DEPLE B1 or Elementary Level The examination is designed for students who wish to prove their Portuguese language proficiency and who are able to communicate in everyday work and study situations CIPLE A2 or Basic Level The examination is designed for students who wish to prove their Portuguese language proficiency and are able to communicate in a limited number of standard situations. ALTE Association of Language Testers in Europe The ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe) “Can Do” project developed a simplified set of 400+ descriptors for language examinations which relate to the Common Reference Levels. These descriptors are in the form of “can-do statements”, each saying more simply what a learner can do at every level.
